Hi,
I'm trying out PocketTunes on my Zire72. The Shoutcast streaming feature
is really a killer feature. However, 128Kbps network streams seem to be
too much to handle for the Bluetooth connection, the stream breaks up
every few seconds.
I looked in the Bluetooth connection details and it says 115.200 bps,
which would, indeed, be too slow for 128K streams. 64Kbps streams work
fine. I'm using a Sitecom Bluetooth USB adapter connected to a laptop,
which, in turn, uses a broadband connection(with plenty of bandwidth).
Actually, I get the same problem when I try Softick PPP and the mini-USB
cable. Now I would expect a cable connection to offer plenty of
bandwidth, but it also stutters with 128Kbps streams, while 64Kbps works
fine.
Am I expecting too much? Do you really need WiFi to get the required
bandwidth?
Secondly, is it possible to automatically enable/disable Bluetooth
whenever the network connection or virtual serial port is opened/closed.

Bluetooth is rated for something like 700Kbps but it seems that most Palm
implementations run at <150Kbps.

Some years ago it seemed it was because of using an UART to handle the
communications, thus limiting the speed to 115kbps. I don't know now, but I
guess the device's design were not changed on this aspect.

At least with my Zodiac and I've heard the Tungstens with BT, even
though the option only goes up to 115k, it isn't limited to that speed.
I get around 680k using my BT access point and a website speed test.
