Need help with connection problem

Hello,
i live in a 3 story house, the router is on the 3rd floor. computer on the first floor uses netgear wireless adapter to connect, and it works fine. I am on the second floor, with a new HP wireless table top pc, and the connection is terrible, any suggestions?

Change seats at the table! Really, rotating the PC might increase the signal to the built-in antenna.
