this might sound funny..but if I play FPS game long enough
my computer will freez wiht a high pich tone
back in the days it happens after 2 hours of CS game play.
first I thought its a over heating problem since I overclocked the vedio card a lil,
to eliminate taht I got myself a Lian-Li PC60, total of 5 case fans
2 front 1 top 1 back, and also the enermax PSU fan
should be no problem, max load is about 38 for system and 48 for CPU
I also updated my the drivers for my video card and sound
card, the freez rarely happen since then. but now...
I got the same problem after an hour or so playing UT2K3 demo
with Hercules 3D Prophet8500 128mb not overclocked, it seemed
like the problem is from the sound card, it is possible..
Since the card is SB audigy, bad rummers about their drivers

So..what do you think, what might be the problem?

a. UT2k3 demo is unstable, and will cause errors?

b. SB Audigy driver has done it again!

c. The Audigy card in this case is a crappy sound card

try the card in another system 2 see if it cause the same problem, what about bios setting? and all the other drivers? are they all updated? maybe bad memory? try to pin point the problem by swap components... etc

Gee, before I opened this post I saw the title and thought "must be another Live! complaint". Well, the audigy is close enough. I had similar problems with the Live Platinum 5.1, and it was caused by the drivers. I sold it.

Like I said, I sold it. Owned for over a year with no improvements in drivers.
