As the owner of a T|C I have found that all cables are not created equal. They may have a UC and are listed for the Tungsten Series but won't work. Can someone shed some light on this?

A matrix of what is compatible would be nice. My searches have not yield any usable info.

TIA

In our last episode, the evil Dr. Lacto had captured our hero,

I have found that my M515 and my (former) Tungsten T did, in fact, both
have a Universal Connector, but the shape of the Pilot itself was such
that they didn't fit each-other's cables perfectly. They fit, but they
had to be held in place.

My T3 fits nicely in my (former) T's cradle. I haven't tried any other
combinations yet.

I can't comment specifically on the TC.

What kinds of cables are you finding not to work? Everything I've
tried has worked on my T1 and T3, with the exception of a travel
charger that had defective latches, and had to be held in place in
order to work. (A replacement one was OK).

I have a "Y" cable by Belkin with a DB-9 and USB leading to a UC. Actually this is the second one, having thought the first was defective I returned it. The only thing it will do is supply power thru the USB connector.

What I need to know, is the T|C wired the same as the T|E and T|W and T|3? Assuming they have UC, as I don't have access to them or own any. I need to know for future accessory purchases.

I was looking again and found where the T|T=T|2,T|3,T|C,T|W & Z71 &M515,505,500 & i705 & M130,125.

Hard to believe but I must have gotten two bad cables ...

Thanks to all.

It could easily be that the design or manufacture of the cables was
screwed up somehow (connector inversion, off-by-one, pin numbering,
etc) and all of the will be bad. Try a different vendor...

It may not be a case of "bad" cables but rather that the cables were
designed for a specific purpose. For example, I have a T3 and I have a USB
cable that I use to charge and sync with. I bought a second USB cable at
Radio Shack but it can only be used to sync not charge. Don't know why the
company didn't wire up the power pins but they didn't. So it's not really a
"bad" cable just that it's not meant to be used for charging.

Cheers
TC

I might tend to agree with you but I can't remember what was on the package. I thought it was a Sync/Charge cable for both USB and Serial however I only get power on the USB side and no response at all on the Serial. BTW it is a Belkin.

Bummer ...

All PUC should be wired the same... but I wonder why my Zire71 hotsync
cable form BrandoShop can't sync my Tungsten|C, while it works on
Tungsten|T3... :-?
