I am trying to get my netgear cable modem to forward a port wirelessly. If I connect directly to the modem this works but the minute I put my computer on wireless the port doesn't forward. Please help as I have tried everything and am going crazy!

You must have a static IP address in order to use Port Forwarding. Did you allocate a static wireless IP address?

I have a dynamic ip address which only works when the modem is physically plugged in as.

He means the lan address.

Your PC actually is getting 2 different IP for wired and wireless because the cards have different mac address. You can if you want set the same IP on the wired and wireless but you must be careful to only have one active at a time.

Yes, you must go into your router settings and mark your Wireless IP address as static.
