Just in case anyone here uses an iPod at home or in the studio,
perhaps you can answer this question:
When using an iPod Dock (Apple part #M9339LL, "iPod Stereo Connection
Kit with Monster Cable" ) does the volume control on the iPod have any
affect on the level of the signal appearing at the Dock's line output?
i have an ipod in my car, using one of the cradle devices.
it provides power via the dock and provides a line out coming from the dock
connector.
the line out jack is pre ipod volume so i'd guess a regular dock is as well.

No, it doesn't ... you have to use the volume on whatever you are hooking it up to.
