Which do you think is faster...

512MB PC100(256MB PC133, 128MB PC133, 128MB PC100)

Since one stick is PC100, I think they all run at that speed.

Or...

384MB PC133(256MB PC133, 128MB PC133)

This is on a Pentium II 450. Does PC133 run faster on a Pentium II 450, that is another question? Thanks in advance.

Yeah, dude.

PC100 is what you'd want to o/c your p2 with. I was under the impression that all p2's were 66mhz FSB's, and only the p3's went to 100FSB's.

P4's @ 3600Mhz ()wNz J00 4LL!!!!!!

P II 350 MHz was the first one with 100 MHz FSB, therefore the PII 450 has 100 MHz FSB.
In that case what you need to OC it is the PC 133.

Well I really don't have a clue as how to OC a PII 450, so I will probably add in the PC100 stick and let everything run at that. Not sure you can tell that big of a difference between PC100 and PC133 anyhow.

This computer is mainly being used to browse the internet, use Word, use Excel, and use Quicken Pro. Nothing more complicated than that.

Question and suggestion...

Are you using the machine for memory intensive activities?

(Video or audio composing/editing, file or web server, CAD or Micro-Station, etc.)

If you are not using the machine for memory intensive activities, then I suggest only using the PC133. It will make a noticeable difference if your FSB is at 133MHz. (Most likely it is only at 100MHz.)

If it is a 100MHz FSB then use all of them. It will not matter. (For all practical purposes.)

Back to the first question... Why dont you just use your 2 x 256mb PC133 and make 512mb PC133?

My sig's faster than yours, and it overclocks better too....

Your CPU runs at 100MHz bus speed, that means your RAM will also. You might as well use all 512MB including the PC100. The only advantage you could get is if your PC100 didn't run at Cas2 but only at Cas3, you'd get a slight boost from removing it, since even Cas3 PC133 will run Cas2 at 100MHz.
