I just moved into my college dorm and set up the wifi. My phone and laptop, when connected wirelessly to the router, get from 15-20 mbps. the problem is my desktop. its too far too connect with an ethernet cable so i bought a pci-e wireless adapter (d-link dwa-556) and i only get mbps if im lucky. all 3 devices are on the same desk , and i have the newest drivers installed for the adapter. also , i get great ping and upload speeds on the desktop, just the download speeds are very slow. any suggestions ?
