Have you attempted to upgrade the drivers for the integrated video card?

Do you see any errors in the Event Viewer after the error occurs? Start\Settings\Control Panel\Administrative Tools\ Event Viewer. Application and System Log.

Event log has a lot of the same errors. Source: Application hang - Catagory 101 - Event 1002. In the event viewer System log, error Source: Service Control M... Catagory -None - Event 17023. There are several of these errors. In event viewer security it said file is corrupt and now I can't get into it at all.

Perhaps you should try to repair the operating system.

Boot the system with the WinXP CD, and after the hardware detection, choose to repair the OS.

You mentioned having 1.5GB of DDR. Is it ECC? How many modules?

Would you recommend buying ECC memory...

Once you go AMD, You never Go back!!

3 sticks of 512 memory.I don't know the brand. I'm going to try to find out today. Downloading video card drivers didn't do anything.

Not unless you are running a server. And some mainboards do not support ECC memory.

This might be part of the problem. There are chipsets that require DDR memory be registered (buffered) if you are using more than two memory modules.
