Hi, I am about to purchase for my 1st self-built system and I am having trouble determining some info on memory.

I'm planning on getting a ASUS P4S8x Motherboard (3xDIMM). I want to buy at least 2700 sdram C2. I can't determine what my restrictions are with this or higher memory. For example, can I use 1 x512 stick or must I buy in pairs. Then, if I add a third, can it be 2700?

I've tried to download the manual for the mobo but its not working from the asus site. I'm not too familiar with details of the newer memory. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Eman

PS. Also, any comments on 2700 vs 3200 and c2 v c2.5 would be helpful. From what I've read, there seems to be controversy over the speed benefit of either.

it'll be better for you to get 1 stick of 512mb PC2700(DDR333). with DDR333's there could be some issue on system stability if you try 2 use more than 1 stick of ram,

CL2 (not C2) is faster than CL2.5, you can set most quality ram from CL2.5 o CL2 in bios. and dont' get PC3200's
