Hello,
In windows 7 Pro Update it is keeping track of all the attempts of any update you have attempted even if they were cancelled or failed and loaded later successfully. It is looking cluttered and confusing.

Is there any way to clean that so only successful ones appear and only once even if they were successful?

This will delete all update history. I don't think its possible to delete update history selectively.
Go to Start menu> All Programs> Accessories.
Right-click on the "command prompt"> Run as Administrator.
Type this command:
net stop wuauserv
Press enter And validate.
Wait until a confirmation says the service has been stopped.
Now, give this command in the command prompt:
del %systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore
The service will relaunch automatically at next reboot.

Do you know of any way to safely edit the contents of that file after casutiously saving the original? it would be nice if I could delete the lines I don't want and the duplicates.
