Can someone help me with a Netgear router?

I use a Netgear Wireless Router on my desktop. Each time I start my computer and the desktop loads, I receive a pop-up message stating "you are now connected to the internet." It has a check box with the option to not show the message again. Each day I check that box as if it's not going to pop up again....but it does. Does anyone know how to eliminate this problem? I'm guessing it must be easy.

that was supposed to be the easy way. try opening your network and sharing center and delete your router from the list of remembered wireless connections and set it up again. hopefully the next time it wont happen again (also check for any extra adapters that shouldn't be there (like local area connection 3, 4, 5 and so on)
