Hello I have two computers that I have set up as a Lan. Both has a NIC each and is connected with crossover cable. Before I had Win98SE and set up the networked with Microsoft Client and TCP/IP. I upgraded to Windows 2000 Pro and it still worked. However I reformatted both pc's recently and installed a clean OS of Windows 2000 Pro; one with SP2 and the other without update. But now with TCP/IP they won't recognize each other...
I have told a friend my dilemma and he told me use NetBeui and disable NetBios under TCP/IP(something bout hacking my computer whenever he pleased). The computers recognize each other now but I can hardly send any files before the connection "drops" and windows says "the current network connection is no longer available". After a reboot everything is fine and dandy but the same happens once I start moving files...

Can some1 tell me what to do or guide me in the right direction? Or at least tell me what's wrong..

Thanks a lot!
