I recall one troll who was so pathetically desperate for attention that he
not only trolled, but also posed as a troll-hunter when his troll posts
didn't work. The idea was to make himself look good by having the
non-existent troll hunter appear impressed by the "sophisticated" way he
posted. This post, with detailed reference to the troll's technique and
large flame wars supposedly started, absolutely reeks of being such an
attempt. The "Chances are that I don't subscribe to this newsgroup." line
is highly suspect since the header indicates that this message has been
posted only to this group, as is the title "The Anti-troll".
My apologies if it is actually genuine but, if so, try not to indirectly
glorify the troll by posting things like this.
There's probably a well documented mental disorder that causes people to
troll - it's the only explanation for why there are so damn many of them,
all doing the same mindless thing like zombies. Anyone know what it might
be?
