I have a Microsoft optical mouse that my computer won't detect upon startup, but will detect if I unplug it and then plug it in again while the computer is running. Can anyone offer any ideas on what it might be?

And if it's a bios issue than i'm pretty screwed because the company who made the motherboard doesn't seem to have my bios version for some reason, and I'm scared to perform a bios upgrade unless I'm sure it's the right version. I don't want to end up killing my computer.

Please help.

They're really great on this. I got two replacements sent, and my second one was a nice one that had a gray finish to it, instead of the beige. It was some sort of special edition. Today seems to be the last day, so just call that number!
