How do I put a shortcut icon on my desk top, like for gmail?

the path to all users desktop = C:\Users\Public\Desktop

to put a short cut to web page = to the left of the url you will see an icon, left click on that and hold it down while dragging it to your desktop, let go and you have created a short cut to the webpage.
