Is the ENERMAX CS-003-A106USB with ENERMAX (EG301P-VB) 300W powerful enough to run a P4 2.4g, ATI 9700, Asus P4s8x, a CD writer, a dvd drive and a WD 80g hard drive?

Adding up everything you'll have plenty. If you plan to add more hard drives and maybe an upgraded sound card, you'll be getting close to needing more power. If the sound of the larger PS is not a problem and you do not already have the PS go ahead and get a 400.

Take out the floppy, move the mouse, restart the computer and call me in the morning.

If you are going to add more components to your computer then it is better just get at least a 400 Watt PSU now. I would recommond Enermax PSU.

y do plp love enermax? they cost more than the Antec's TruePower range and lacks the seperate voltage regulators like the antecs.

I might add a TBSC sound card. What will happened to the PSU to let me know that the 300w PSU is not enough? Will it become unstable? explode?

I would personally get a little bigger. Especially if you want to add stuff later or overclock your cpu/gpu. Also, I think those 9700s can really suck the power.
