Ahh, the age-old problem - how do you get the monitor bright enough to
see what you need to see, but not so bright it ruins the atmosphere....
Sorry, but I can't help there, you'll just have to experiment with
brightness, gamma & contrast. If you're using a CRT, and don't mind
shelling out, I've found my new TFT to have a larger range of shades,
and it makes it much easier to see things in dark areas without
increasing brightness.
