Can the router connect to modem wirelessly?

Well I'm deployed and I managed to get a Roku device to keep me entertained through the deployment. Unfortunately, I only have a router with no modem or internet outlet in sight of my barracks room. I do know there's a WiFi connection for the whole building, but the Roku device refuses to use that because of a proxy website that prevents it from connecting. Hope I'm not outta options!
