Microsoft Networking

Each time I start my computer, win98 ask for a username and password for Microsoft Networking. Is there any possibility to skip this on startup and go directly to my desktop.

One method maybe to remove the protocol itself from Network applet in Control Panel, but I recommend the other way: tweaking Windows Registry to set such that each time it logs in with the default user name without asking.

To do the above, do any of these:
1. use TweakUI utility from Microsoft
2. Tweak the Windows Registry yourself - details of this topic are at http://registry.winguides.com/display.php/125/

Manish.

You can go to your control panel, click on Network and in the "Primary Network Logon:" click the little down arrow and you should have two choices. It probobly now shows "Client for Microsoft Windows". Select "Windows Logon" then click OK. Your system will reboot and you will not see the Password Logon.
Good Luck
