Hard Drive Problem

I just bought an 80 gig WD Cavalier harddrive, and when I hook it up I cant get it to be identified as a slave or master.. It wont show up under My Computer, but if I go under Device Manager, it is under there and it says that it is working properly. I am using Windows 2000. Does anybody know of something that may help me out?

hmmmm.
Which IDE channel do you have the drive hooked up to? Its not attached to a IDE RAID channel is it?
Something else to try... W.D. drives have two jumper settings for 'Master', 'Master with slave' or 'Master alone'. make sure thats set correctly too.
