The M-1 is not a mixer, it is a stand-alone rack-mounted mic preamp with
1 to 4 channels. It uses the best of the Jensen input transformers
(JT-16-B) and has the best of the Jensen output transformers available
as an option (JT-11-BMQ). You can download a pdf file for the M-1 at:
If you have any questions about the M-1, please let me know. It has been
used with virtually all types of music and voice work with excellent
results. Often described along the lines of being very accurate, but
with a certain character that is very desirable. Thank you.

They were intended to be neutral. By modern standards they are maybe a little
on the brittle side, but not too awful. They aren't in the Hardy/Great
River/Millennia league but they were basically an attempt at doing the same
thing thirty years back.

Yes.
