i know this is probably in the wrong section of the forum however i cant think or where it would fit in.

im looking at copies of windows home server and they seem to be pretty cheap, £25 for home server 2008 and £35 for home server 2011, which would you reccomend? is there any reading material you would reccomend before using windows server?

The vast majority of stuff home server will do can be done with plain old windows.

Would do want your server to do, central file store, print server, media streaming, web server ???

You may not need to spend the ££.

the only copy of windows i own is for my laptop, it would be the first legitimate copy i bought and i figure at that price it is money well spent. as for its uses, a home file server and a gaming server, so linux isn't much of an option.
