I've a m515 to which I've grown attached to using. However, for whatever
reason, the digitizer is so weird that I sometimes feel like tossing
the unit out the window. Even rerunning the Prefs->Digitizer
doesn't really help. Sometimes things are fine - but more often
than not, I'm more frustrated than I am helped. However,
there's little chance of replacing it in the short term.
Anyways, here's the problem. When the m515 gets into this mode,
one of the more frustrating aspects is some sort of built in or
add on clock that keeps popping up as I try to find the right spot
to switch apps, drop down menus, or whatever.
It is a full screen time and date and seems to appear when I tap
on the screen 2 or 3 times .
I've not been able to locate a means of either turning this off or
changing the activation sequence. Right now, it's just getting
in the way.
Is this description enough to trigger a recognition from anyone,
and perhaps a solution to my problems?

If you have a "hack" manager installed, it could be that one of
them is responsible. If disabling all hacks eliminates the problem,
then either examining them closely or re-enabling them one at time
should indicate which one is causing the problem, and perhaps allow
for a different way to activate the time/date pop-up.

Currently the hack manager I have is disabled.

There's only one thing left that I can think to do. Do a hotsync
and verify that everything you need has been backed up. Then do a
hard reset. At that point you shouldn't get the full-screen time &
date when you tap on the screen several times. (Unless, that is, it
is a feature of the OS that I'm unaware of, or something was
installed in flash RAM that you're unaware of). Rename your User
backup directory in the Palm Desktop so that when you do your next
hotsync, only the data from the default apps will be restored. Then
restore/install only one app. per each hotsync, so that if/when the
time/date popup returns you'll know which app. is responsible. If
you're fortunate, the problem won't return.
