Vsampler claims to: http://www.maz-sound.de/index.php?show=product&id=2. I
haven't used an AKAI samples on it but it works great with every thing I've
tried so far.

I'll second VSampler.

Obtuse user interface, no printed manual, great sound, years of feature
discovery. Kontakt should work great, though. CDXtrack or Chicken Systems
Translator probably will do a better AKAI to whatever conversion than what
is built into the Kontakt or any other soft-sampler.

I've seen a few people say that. I think it's hands down the best GUI I've
ever come across. I didn't have a manual either, just good at poking around.
There's some seriously slick stuff in the GUI that could really use
publicizing. I think he finally did put together a PDF manual that you can
have printed.
