Hello everyone, for mainly playing games and watching DVDs on a 17-inch monitor, is it worth it to get one with 1280x1024 resolution, at 75Hz of course? Will the images be too small to enjoy?
Thanks all.

The resolution of DVD is only about 700x500 pixels. So a higher screen resolution doesn't improve the image. You can still make the video fill the entire viewing area of a CRT with 1280x1024 pixels. All frames are simply rescaled.
For gaming 1024x786 is usually sufficient. It gives high frame rates even with a cheap graphics card.
