I have windows 8 pro upgrade. Advice from Microsoft is conflicting. Getting the message that Adobe Flash is required. I am told that it exists within windows and to view such pages in desktop mode. Flash is not seen in Control Panel: Programs.

Have no clue how to proceed with this. I would seek guidance on the following:

- How can I determine what Adobe addons exist on this computer
- How can I update what addons exist on this machine

First thing:
Switch to the desktop (normally located at the bottom left of the Metro Start screen - you can also use Windows Key + D) (http://blog.laptopmag.com/15-essential-windows-8-keyboard-shortcuts)

From there load IE and navigate to Adobe.com
Go to the Downloads section (at the top) and then install Flash...this will check and update your version of Adobe...make sure you read the information that Adobe will give you about Windows 8

This is how I solved the same thing for Adobe on my install...

Have you tried ClassicShell btw? It's great if you prefer to run in Desktop mode rather than Metro...damn - I should be a sales person for ClassicShell! :)
