MN 700 Software cannot find the router...

I am trying to setup a MN 700 router on my computer
Widnows ME edition and I run into a problem. I run the
setup disk that came with the computer, but after I get
network cables all hooked up and click the next button, I
get a message that says it cannot find my router.

I have gone through an looked at all of the possible
reasons that are listed on why this may be happening,
however I can find nothing wrong. It will even go so far
as to say I have a new broadband portal available on my
computer, but when I look at the settings everything is
there except that the broadband says disconnected?

Any ideas?
