Wow is all I can say. I have it basicly the way I had win 98. Where most of my stuff was on the taskbar. What differnt on win xp pro? Other then the fancy pictures

It has Remote Connect... XP Home doesn't have that... but i think you can install that on Win98.. I like XP Pro..i've never had a problem yet, except for driver upgrades but thats easy [-peep-].. anyway..XP pro is nice, i am happy with it, i like the Cool look of the Desktop, rounded edges... when i go on my other comp with win98 i hate it now...all Square'd Edges i get sick when i use that computer... I didnt set my XP up like 98 style, i like the way the Start menu is

WEll I m going to get linux and have win 98 too but with all the ram I have windows 98 will not run.

anyways--good to hear you're making the transition to Linux.
It'll be good for you and your future, wheather or not you plan to go into the IT field.

I have tried Linux several times over the last two years to check out the so called new versions. So far it makes me feel like I have gone back in time about 10 years. It reminds me of when I tried Unix on my Z80 back in 1978. It was nice to be able to load it but I couldn't run the run the software I used under my CPM Operating System and I still can't run the software I need under Linux. I know it makes a very good server but I don't need a server.
