Will a 300 watt power supply be enough for an amd athlon 1800+ xp cpu...if so...how high an amd cpu will the 300 watt support? Appreciate all help in this matter....frew

Possibly, but it depends on lots of factors.
If you have that cpu with high end drives and a beefy graphics card then probably no, especially if you choose a cheap ass generic PSU.

Its better getting something overpowerful like a 350W or a 400W unit so its not running at max load all the time.
