Hi,

Recently I bought HP laptop with Window 7 Home Basic. It's Hard disk capactiy is 500 GB and I tried to create a partition by Shrink Volume. It assigns the space specified by Me as Unallocated and when I try to create a New Simple volume and then clicking on finish it is giving an error msg as,

"The operation you selected will convert the selected basic disk(s) to dynamic disk(s). If you convert the disk(s) to dynamic, you will not be able to start installed operation systems from any volume on the disk(s) (except the current boot volume). Are you sure you want to continue?"

when I m clicking "No" it is not creating any drive. When I clicked on properties of Unallocated disk and then clicked on Volumes tab it showed Partition style as Master Boot Record (MBR). I think this can be one of the reason for partition failure.

Can anybody guide Me then how to create a partition.
