Hello,
My name is Derek, My laptop keeps saying "Windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter.If you have a network adapter, you will need to re-insatll the driver". I've found the right one and it still want install. Says it's the wrong one but i'm pretty sure it's the right one. I just did a fresh install where i put windows 7 extreme on a laptop and i can't seem to ge the right drivers i guess. I don't know if it's the wrong driver or a bad NIC Card. Can someone please help me with this problem? I would be very Thankful!

-Some laptops can turn off the adapters via keystrokes and a custom piece of software, they can be off by default unless turned on.

-some can be turned off in the BIOS

- maybe your wireless configuration service is turned off or was never turned on because the adapter was not detected.

- maybe you downloaded a 64 bit driver for a 32 bit OS
- maybe your Ethernet connection is plugged in and your wireless becomes disabled

-control panel->system and security->system
check the system type (32 or 64 bit)
-services control panel app to check if WLAN AutoConfig service is running
- look at your network card brand to find a good driver from the OEM
but check device manager to make sure it gets installed correctly
