Hello, let me just say that I'm pretty good with computer, but have a power supply question.
The 2 computers in question have the following components:
Pentium II 400
512 pc100 ram
2 8 gig scsi hd
1 20 gig ide hd
1 9 gig ide hd
1 8x cd-rom
1 8x scsi cd-rom
1 250 meg zip drive internal (got for free)
voodoo 3 2000 pci video card
cold cathode light ^_^
It currently has a 300 watt power supply and seems to run ok. I know there's a ton stuff in this machine, is 300 watts enough for it? Here's my second computer in question:

Athlon 1.1 Ghz
512 pc133 ram
1 12 gig ide hd
1 120 gig ide hd
1 8x dvd-rom
1 12x8x32 cd-rw
Radeon 7000 32 meg ddr video card
I'm pretty sure I've forgotten some stuff, because I'm at work right now. This has a 350 watt ps. Please email me with response if it's handy, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks

The only way to know if a power supply will work for your system is to run it on your system and see if your system is stable with it. Everything else is just a probability. For instance anyone knows a 430W enermax will probably run a one hdd xp system, but I just read a post on another site where a guy was praising a brand x psu because when he replaced his 430w enermax with it his random lock ups stopped.

So if both systems are stable, you are fine.

Hopefully someone else will respond with something more quantitative. I have had a lot of random luck with psu's, which skews my conclusions.

Thanks for the info, they both seem to be running just fine, they're on almost 24/7.
I've just had friends who use 400 watt power supplies on old 95 machines, I thought it seemed kinda odd so I thought I'd look in to it.

Thanks again
