My wife is "staging an old radio play" . .yeah, makes no sense to me
either. :)

They're trying to get the look and feel of a radio broadcast session,
with character players shifting between roles before the audience's
eyes, bratty child stars with an entourage . . and a foley man smashing
glass and slamming doors.

Couple things have me stumped:

We need a man jumping into the Genesee river.
Footsteps (literally)--walk shoes on a plank?
Mealtime
Barroom
And anything evocative of heaven.

It's a period piece done in full view of the audience, so "Hit the key
that plays the sample," is pretty much out of the question. 8-)

Wading Pool - drop a (full of water) giant gas can in. Don't allow any
air in the can or it will resonate.

>Footsteps (literally)--walk shoes on a plank?

Hard soles.

>Mealtime

plates, silverware, slasses, chairs on floor

>Barroom

Mostly semi grumbly voices muttering "Rhubarb" and small classes

>And anything evocative of heaven.

Light wind (mouth generated whistles) and wind chimes
Or just wintchimes alone. Better than windchimes are strands of keys
on fishing line.
