Hi!
Strange question.
I have to use the cd-rom drive of my notebook on my home-system (IDE).How can I do this? Some told me about an adaptor (2.5" to 3.5" HD), but don't know if it work.
Could You tell me something more???
I have to do this!

Thanks

The 2.5" HD drives in laptops uses a finepitch ATA connector with 44 pins instead of 40. The extra 4 pins are for the power to the drive. There exists converters so the drives can be connected to the ordinary sized 40 pins ATA connectors. Note, however, some laptops do not use the 44 pin ATA connector for the CDROM, so make sure that yours does before you purchase the adaptor.

Check this out <A HREF="http://www.everythinglinux.com.au/item/GC325?elinux=1529fb3b1cba2c78e1deedaf13be7a88" target="_new">http://www.everythinglinux.com.au/item/GC325?elinux=1529fb3b1cba2c78e1deedaf13be7a88</A>
Note the power cable that supplies 5V to the 2.5 inch drive using the additional 4 pins of the smaller 44 pin connector.
