By experience can anyone here say what is the best way to exercise Moto
warranty to fix an HS801?

I purchased a HS801 mail order. It appears to charge for 15-30 minutes,
then light goes out. Left it on charger over night - 6 hours - anyway.

Attempts to pair with V600 or even turn it on all fail. It was "charged"
with Moto charger supplied, male plug correctly connected.

So I conclude "it does not work".
I want it fixed or replaced.
Warranty document does NOT say how to exercise the warranty!
Returning it to the mail order house is too complicated.

So do I go to a store?
Try to find a phone number to call?

Pray??

TIA for any advice.

In legal terms, however, any contract you have is with the seller.

If one reads the document, "MOTOROLA Limited Warranty for Accessories",
you will find a stipulation - "Motorola warrants ...".
So they have a contract with me.

This is not to say the seller has no contract with me. The seller is
bound to sell a functional accessory. I.E. it must perform the basic
functions or our deal (contract) is violated.

I hold that it is my option to seek enforcement of either "contract" -
my choice which.

My post was to determine which route has proven most efficient for others.

Exactly.

However, Motorola still binds you to their warranty, regardless of contract
terms with the seller, as Motorola never sells directly to the public. This
of course is standard business practice.

Instead of exercising all of your "legalese" why dont you just contact
Motorola Customer Service and ask them what is the procedure for a warranty
claim on an accs? I am willing to bet that your not he first person with a
defective accs that cant or wont return it to the original seller. ( I do
smell maybe an Ebay deal here, in which I bet they wont cover it becuase not
the original buyer) It never ceases to amaze me that companies spend
Millions on a web site and people dont use them. In 30 seconds I found this
link. http://commerce.motorola.com/consu [...] ct_us.html

Replacement on way from Motorola after visiting every help desk onshore
and off.

So Moto honors the warranty.

THX for comments...
