Looked at the SB Audigy versus Terratec DMX 6 Fire review and liked the Terratec enough to buy it, but has anyone installed this card and do they like it?
I'm running a Gigabyte mobo, P4 2.53, GforceT4600, 2 80 gig Western HD's and will be using this for mostly downloading records/tapes onto CD's and gaming, its a bit more than I wanted to spend ($250-300) but if the quaility is there I'm thinking it'd be worth it.
Anybody have one of these?

My brother had one and it wouldn't work till you installed a patch if you have a 2GHZ or faster machine... The digi out sounded ok and the line in is profesional quality. We did some flowing and recording to test it out.

It's not in my computer and i have only heard one for abouta day it sounded good when playing wav's and wmp files. I only played cs on it and it sounded beter than ac 97 sound... not sure if it's worth the price if you going to use it for games and movies, but it is one of the best at recording audio.. drivers seemed ok.. Im sure it will work well in most games... im sure it's better than my fortismo III 7.1 card at recording and the same or beter at games... don't get a creative card they have probs...
i think he ordered it from here...

Your best bet is probably to save a couple bucks and go with the Audigy, or more likely the Audigy II Platinum. It will probably work a little better for you on the gaming side of things. The Terratec's are more marketed for the musicians, since it is a true 24-bit card. Unless your going to be recording your own music, or your a sound engineer, the Audigy should work just fine.
