Battery indicator on windows 7

Hello,
My battery indicator on WIN 7 has started showing 100% constantly and then the laptop will die when the battery does. This is a fairly recent development. Any ideas on what is going on and how to fix it>

Sounds like new battery time....how long does it last in MINUTES when you unplug the charger ?
