Upgrade? What's the point...?

I have a kinda old Soundblaster PCI 128 from Creative.
I'm using Cambride SoundWorks 4 point surround speakers.
There is a really good offer for me to buy a 5.1 Surround card.

Will there be a big difference? Or do I have to buy better speakers too, to make it a good set up?

5.1 sound gives you that center speaker. Depending on the value...I say do it!

Yeah. But I have 4 point surround speakers. So I wont have the center speaker. I was more wondering on sound quality.

Short answer probably not :/
Although the sound decoding may be better on a more modern card... depends on how good an ear you have ?
