For years this was my basement recording choice, a great value for $30

http://www.geocities.com/usenet_da [...] er_mic.jpg

I bought a couple in 2001 and they had changed the windscreen to
black, but pretty much the same mic.

Well a couple of my mics are getting beat up and it was time to buy a
new one and I don't see these at Radio Shack anymore!

Can anyone tell me who might carry these (is there a Radio Shack
surplus outlet or something?) or something just as good a value?

Thanks!

Wasn't this the same mic that Frank Sinatra used...?

No, I think it was John Fogarty on "Proud Mary." <g>

ha ha

Probably not, but it likely was used by Robert Pollard.

Actually the newer mics (the ones I bought in 2002) are Optimus
33-3014. They are virtually identical to 33-1060 which was sold in the
late 80s early 90s.
