desk versus software

so I'm looking at upgrading to a multi-input multi track mix system. it's
down to either the maudio 1010 card with a behringer or makie board (would
like 8 bus but the four is more affordable) for a minimum of about $800 (4
bus) OR the aardvark direct pro q10 (packaged with cubase LE?) for about
$700 with no hardware board. decisions decisions. any somments out there?
suggestions? curses? rants? trolls?
