Restart it and immediately start tapping the Function 8 key. That will bring up the advanced boot menu with several options - select Safe Mode with networking in case you need to go online to fix malware problems.

Safe Mode loads fewer drivers and utilities so it has a better chance of overcoming the problem - whatever that it.
