maximizing performance

Does anyone know of any articles on setting up a computer to work with digital photography? Other than the obvious, max ram, and the whizziest video that will fit.

I suppose firewire or USB 2.0 is a benefit.

A good quality monitor too.

Maybe dual CPUs???
