line level USB audio interface

Can anyone recommend a 2-channel USB audio interface withOUT preamps?

Edirol UA-1X looks vaguely interesting but no real data on their site. How are the Ediroldrivers? http://edirol.com/products/info/ua1x.html

I've been playing with an M-Audio Transit lately. Mostly as an interface for
a Liberty Instruments pod. It seems ok, but it only has the 1/8" stereo
jacks for input and output.

The driver applet has a selector knob with the following:

Boost:

0 dB (Off)
+14 dB
+20 dB
+26 dB

I've been using it with 0 dB (Off) and putting in -10dBV nominal signals.
