Memory Types (RAMBUS, DDR, etc)

Hello again! I'm back! Anyways I've read a lot of the different types of memory out there. In short how many types are there, and what is the best? What is the difference between DDR and for example RAMBUS and what does it mean when it says PC1200? What does the Mhz have to do with RAM? Thanks again in advance! I'm sure I'll be back! LOL
