Hi
In the article on Serial ATA, Tom's shows a RocketRaid 100 adapter to convert a standard hardrive to ata. I have just ordered the new ASUS A7v8 Mobo and would like to find 2 of these adapters for my WD hardrives, so that I can connect them directly to the serial ATA, and the dvd and cd drives can go directly to the ide's. My thinking is this would be a less cluttered enviroment, and I wouldn't have to wonder about slave/master etc.. as all drives would have a direct connection.
PROBLEM: I cant find these little converter/adaptors, the high point website says they are not sold seperatly, but come with the Serial ATA cards. Of course if Serial ATA is already built in to my new mobo, what the heck am I to do? These have got to be available somewhere! Can anyone help?
thanks
Brent

<A HREF="http://www.3ware.com/products/cables.asp" target="_new">3ware</A> seems to have what you're looking for. More importantly, seems that at least <A HREF="http://www.pricewatch.com/2/44/2882-1.htm" target="_new">PriceWatch</A> is actually selling them. IMO the price is outright insane, though.
