What's wrong with the System Monitor? (W98)

You know the one that shows for example processor usage. It used to work fine, but now it goes randomly from 20% to 40% or even 80% when I'm not doing anything.

I'm a pretty experienced user, so I know there isn't any background programs on (checked from the Tasklist with ctrl+alt+del). And the computer doensn't seem to
be slower. The System Monitor just appears to show random values (only in CPU usage).

The OS is Windows 98.

Answering my own post:

I read somewhere that this is a known bug, so that's the solution to this (no fix, I guess) :)
