All this talk about lip synching and audio being one second off from
video after two hours made me reflect on my flight today. I was on Jet
Blue (where they have 24 channels of Direct TV instead of dumb
in-flight movies) and for a while, just for diversion, I tuned in the
VH1 Classics channel while listening to music I brough along with me
on my Jukebox 3. Totally uncorrelated, but I barely noticed that they
weren't in sync - and, in fact, at times, I noticed that they were
remarkably in sync. So what's the big deal?

Two things are big deal: 1.JetBlue has 24 channels of Direct TV??????
2. You watch VH-1 for
diversion????
As for the snyc stuff...a number of movies and albums are really fun to
play together. In fact one of my favorite things right now is to create my
own sound tracks to commercial movies. And I don't care what the
Director/Producer had in mind it is way too much fun to see how simple
music changes alter entire scenes meaning.

Yup. You can watch commercials all the way across the country. The
most interesting thing is the flight track.

It moves a little faster than the flight tracking.

I'm not much of a sports fan, but I find that football is more
interesting on TV when I turn the sound off and listen to the same
game on the radio. Although for all I know about sports, I could
probably be watching a football game and hearing a basketball game and
it wouldn't bother me.
