What are the mem limits of different version of W8

Does anyone know the memory limitations of the different version of Windows 8? They had an artificial limit of 16GB in Windows 7. Is it gone in 8?

More about what limits version
  1. Hi :)

    Nobody knows yet....

And windows 7 can handle 128 gb...depending on version...

    All the best Brett :)
  2. Limitations imposed by windows 7:
    Version........................Limit on X86.........Limit on X64
    Windows 7 Ultimate ........ 4 GB .................. 192 GB
    Windows 7 Enterprise........ 4 GB .................. 192 GB
    Windows 7 Professiona .... 4 GB .................. 192 GB
    Windows 7 Home Premium 4 GB .................... 16 GB
    Windows 7 Home Basic ..... 4 GB ..................... 8 GB
  3. Microsoft assumes people that run over 16 GB of RAM are probably running (or should be running) the Professional SKU anyway. I'm with them on this one. I can't think of any reason a "Home" computer would need so much RAM, unless you just like high numbers.
  4. Home premium could benifit. I do Not need the Pro, or Higher version, but would like to go to 32 gigs soley for running a Ramdrive.
  5. What's your RAM drive for?
  6. Ram drives are fun for compiling, compressing, photo/video editing, etc.
