Hi,
I'm a relative newbie when it comes to computers and was wondering whether or not I want to use 512 megs of DDR400 or DDR for my MSI KT4 motherboard that I will have put on the new computer I am building. It will have a 2000+ amd processor, ATI 8500-LE graphics card, some extra case fans, 60 gig hard drive and a cdrw burner. Would it be advisable for me to risk DDR400 seeing as how it hasn't got good reviews but it might become better with new BIOS for my motherboard or should I stick to the more reliable DDR333?

With either speed, the AMD cannot utilize the full bandwidth of either. Unless you overclock the FSB. (Front Side Bus)

If you want to get either is up to you. The benefits for the faster speeds will not help the AMD much. (Minimally)

If you are looking for bragging rights, get the DDR 400.

If you are looking for price to performance, get the DDR 333.

By the way, I'm getting this computer from ibuypower.com. It has good reviews and I've talked to several people who have bought computers from there and they seem to like them. Was wondering what opinion you guys have on the site (if any). http://www.ibuypower.com/confirm/configurator-k7tb-ddr-333.htm this is the url to the system builder I am buying. I would be getting a msi kt4vl motherboard, 2000+ amd xp processor, 2 extra case fans, 256 megs of ddr333, ati 8500-le graphics card, and then just a silver keyboard/mouse combo. No OS or monitor, will be buying monitor separeately.
